August 2015: our UCLan Economics Programme has been ranked first in the UK (against 77 institutions) on many indicators in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2015. While the NSS has its downfalls, and while we only had 15 of our students scoring the programme in the NSS, it's still great to know that on the key indicators associated with teaching and learning (academic support, enthusiasm, knowledge, organisati...on and communication) the programme ranks first in the UK. Additionally, it scores highly, in the top five places, on the other indicators. What is most impressive is that this excellent result has been achieved with a relatively very small teaching team; it includes Michael Brightman, Paul McKeown, Robert Milward, Professor Philip B. Whyman and me.

Doctoral Thesis Internal Examiner - at UCLan.
